Delores J. Hawkins - A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, she currently resides in Suffolk, Virginia.  Delores has had a love of quilts since high school, but did not become a serious quilter until 1995.   As a former home economics teacher, sewing was a part of her job that brought many hours of enjoyment and challenges during the making of clothes and crafts.  Delores loves collecting quilting books making children's quilts, shopping for interesting fabrics (butterflies) and attending quilting retreats.   Delores enjoys contemporary quilting and the use of new techniques.  It is her desire to teach her granddaughter and others this rewarding craft.  She has shown her quilts with the guild in shows as well as independently in other venues.
