Samella Butler Burse       

.                                   Samella, a native of Chicago, IL, began quilting after her retirement.  She pursued this endeavor by taking many quilting classes at a family-owned
                                    fabric store in Weymouth, Massachusetts.  After relocating to Virginia she continued to learn the various aspects of telling stories with fabric.  She
                                    loves quilting because it is very therapeutic for the various medical conditions that can afflict one’s body.  Quilting has resulted in bringing releasing
                                    her creativity and skills that had been dormant for many years.  Many of her works are bed-sized and baby quilts.  To enhance her skills she continues
                                    to take numerous classes.
