Yvette Maynard

Yvette was inspired to sew by her aunt, who used to sew all of Yvette’s clothing. Her aunt taught her to crochet, but Yvette never made it past the basic stitch – Barbie doll hats became her limit. Finally, at the age of 30, Yvette inherited the Singer featherweight that belonged to her aunt. After moving to Germany, Yvette dusted off her coveted Singer and enrolled in a quilting class at a local shop. And, as she states, “Sew-zilla was born.”

Although her beginning was basic patchwork quilts, Yvette continues to explore more artsy projects and out-of-the-box techniques.
